Nestled in the charming destination of Bali, Seafood Bu Rini offers a unique seafood dining experience that is both authentic and delightful. Situated at Jl. Tukad Punggawa No.27, Serangan, this local gem may be a bit off the beaten path, but it has earned its reputation among locals and visitors alike for its fresh catch and vibrant flavors.
Upon arrival, you'll find a selection of dishes that showcase the best of marine fare. From succulent prawns to flavorful crab and tender squid, each plate is crafted to capture the essence of Indonesian cuisine. Guests rave about the sambal, a spicy condiment that elevates the meal and pairs beautifully with the fresh seafood offerings. Many patrons, like DNR, highlight the steamed fish and the mouthwatering saos padang clams, expressing satisfaction beyond expectations.
However, while the food has its fans, some reviews indicate that the overall experience could use some improvement. A few guests, including Mr. Oktavianus, have raised concerns regarding cleanliness, noting unfortunate incidents involving pests. On the service front, there are whispers of a need for a more attentive and friendly staff to enhance the dining atmosphere, as suggested by Noverin Andrea.
Despite its minor shortcomings, the atmosphere at Seafood Bu Rini is what you’d expect from a traditional Indonesian food stall—casual and unpretentious. For those venturing from tourist hotspots like Sanur, the 15-20 minute journey is well worth it for the promise of fresh seafood. Jessica Siauw insists on making a visit whenever in Bali, particularly enamored with their lobster and clams.
In conclusion, Seafood Bu Rini is a must-visit for seafood lovers willing to explore a bit further. With its charm and dedication to fresh ingredients, it invites you to indulge in a simple yet satisfying culinary experience. Don't forget to arrange your transportation, as online taxis are prohibited in the area. Embrace the excitement of discovery and savor the flavors of Bali at Seafood Bu Rini—where the ocean meets your plate.
“ It's more like 3.5stars. food was okay and es jeruk is great, sambal is great. But it's not like I was impressed that much. I have no problem with the location being like at the end of the island. ”
“ Must visit seafood restaurant. The location is far from main road. Like saos padang. Recommend for all the menus prawn, crab, squid. The price is comparable to other seafood restaurant. ”
“ The seafood served is fresh, the cooking is delicious. But regarding the atmosphere, there is nothing special about this restaurant, typical Indonesian food stalls. The service is also very standard ”
“ If you’re staying in Sanur, this restaurant is a good choice for seafood as it’s only about 15-20 minutes away. However be advised that this area is a little bit out of the way so if you’re going there with a taxi or Gojek, make sure you make an arrangement for the return trip. When we came, unfortunately the fish choices were quite limited as they only had kerapu (grouper), kudu-kudu (boxfish) and another fish which I have never heard of (and as such, I’d never order). We had the kerapu / grouper fish grilled, which was a good choice as the sauce was nice and not spicy. The tauge tumis (wok-fried bean sprouts) was especially good as the vegetable was still firm with just the right amount of seasoning. Another good dish was the prawn cooked in butter and soy sauce (udang masak mentega). Our meal for three came to about IDR 450k which was quite acceptable in my book. Also, as we came early around 6:30pm on a weekday, there were not too many customers and our orders were brought out within 15 minutes. ”
“ It was one of my favorite local seafood restaurants in Bali a few years ago. However, during my last visit, I was a bit disappointed. First, regarding cleanliness, I found a cockroach that came from under the plate on the table, and my wife found dead flies in our white rice. These two incidents probably ruined my appetite that day. Second, regarding taste, as I remembered, the sensation, freshness, and seasoning were way better a few years ago. They were still quite good, but not as good as before. Third, regarding access to get there at night, it was darker and had become more silent than before. Overall, the taste was okay but not as special as before. ”
